2 killed, several injured in one of state's bad car accidents

A resident of another state is facing serious charges after allegedly causing a wreck that killed two and injured several others. The man was reportedly drinking and driving after leaving a wedding when the accident occurred in Queens, New York. A 34-year-old man and a teenage boy were both killed in that crash. It was just one of the state's bad car accidents this year.

Woman injured in 7-Eleven slip and fall accident

A woman alleges that she suffered injuries in a 7-Eleven store in another state. She filed a complaint against the retail chain after suffering the slip-and-fall accident. The woman's claim is that the retail store failed to provide her with a safe environment in which to shop. In New York, as in other states, a retail store is responsible for making sure that its location is safe for consumers and other business invitees.

July and August are the most dangerous months

Summer has always been the time to get outside and do things. People are more active, whether that means walking and biking city streets or hopping in the car for a road trip. When more people are out and about, the data says that more people also suffer from accidents.

Lawsuit approved in young football player's brain injury death

The Supreme Court in a northwestern state recently ruled that the parents of a young football player who was fatally injured on the field have the right to pursue claims for damages in a lawsuit. The student suffered a brain injury during a football game that eventually led to his death. His parents allege that the boy's coach pushed him to play when he was unable to do so.  Although this case did not happen in New York, similar injuries are suffered within the state each year.

Lawsuit filed over catastrophic injuries from electrocution

A man's parents have filed a lawsuit on his behalf after he suffered terrible burns from a power line. The incident took place at the Gulfport Yacht Club and caused catastrophic injuries to the victim. Although this club is not in New York, similar cases are heard in the state's courtrooms throughout the year.
